Insititutes and research groups
The FAU Busan Campus currently comprehends six departments / research groups.

Research and lectures / practical sessions will be conducted by the permanent scientific staff. These experts are
recruited exclusively from excellent scientists of the participating institutes in Erlangen and are familiar with
German university / research structures.

Flying faculty / guest lecturers

As part of a "Flying Faculty", the chair-holding professors of the Erlangen institutes will come to Busan temporarily in each semester to teach lectures. Additionally, professors / scientists from other universities who are experts in their respective fields will be invited to give lectures; some professors already confirmed their participation from the beginning. Specialized lectures or workshops will be organized in cooperation with industrial companies.

Research / cooperations

The Friedrich-Alexander University intends the FAU Busan to be a platform for exchange between industrial companies and research organizations in both Germany and Korea. In Germany, it is very common for large companies with their own R&D divisions to engage in cooperative research projects with university institutes. For small and developing companies it is a very cost effective way of implementing ideas for technological innovations into practice. The FAU Busan aims to provide expertise for the east-Asian branches of FAU's German industrial partners as well as for Korean companies with new ideas in the field of chemical and bioengineering. For research projects with companies, ideal conditions will be created and the FAU Busan will also seek joint projects with Korean universities, research institutes or research foundations.
